GAMBARAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN MASYARAKAT TENTANG PENGGUNAAN ANTIBIOTIK DI DESA SEI LIMBAT KEC. SELESEI TAHUN 2024

Abstract

The high rate of inappropriate antibiotic use among the public is causing the problem of antibiotic resistance. If this problem persists, it will lead to various issues and become a global threat to health. This study was conducted to determine the level of public knowledge regarding antibiotic use. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to respondents using Systematic Random Sampling. The study was conducted in Sei Limbat Village, Selesai District, from February to March 2024. A total of 135 respondents were surveyed, with 2 respondents (1.5%) demonstrating very high knowledge. The number of respondents with high knowledge was 6 (4.4%), those with moderate knowledge was 52 (38.6%), those with low knowledge was 59 (43.6%), and those with very low knowledge was 16 (11.8%). The results of the study indicate that the level of knowledge regarding antibiotic use among the residents of Sei Limbat Village, Selesai Subdistrict, falls into the Low category, with an average score ranging from 43.75% < x ≤ 56.25% of the maximum total of 100%.
